The Writing Center offers students the opportunity to attend workshops, which are held approximately twice a month, throughout the fall and winter semesters. Student workshops are typically held Tuesday or Thursday during “dead hour.”

All workshops last about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Students who are interested in attending should reserve their space in a workshop

Request a workshop

University of Detroit Mercy faculty are invited to request Writing Center workshops. Workshops are an excellent way to introduce students to specialized topics in writing and to give students a chance to practice writing skills. You may request a workshop by contacting Writing Center Director Erin Bell at bellee@udmercy.edu or via phone at ext. 1289.

Workshops are provided by the director and may be co-taught by writing consultants with topic-specific training. Workshops can be held in your classroom or via Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate.
